synopsis (hour one)
univac & Austin have formed The Zero G Mice, after the success of their previous performance managed to earn them a 23 date galactic tour, beginning on Beta Arland II. univac is now using the name Zero G Robinson, and Austin is using the name Vic Sputnik. univac has programmed two musical bots to assist us with stage shows: Zaphod Cassettehead, who plays Digi-Bass & Psi-Guitar, and Sir-Kit, a simple drum machine bot that can play anything… if it wants to.
The four bandmates are on their way to the stage, having already landed on Beta Arland II. Neither univac or Austin have been there before, but Austin thinks he knows a few things at first, as he has heard of Beta Arland II. But as they work their way to the stage, Austin realizes most of what he heard was wrong, and explains to univac all the things he misunderstood. univac might have some knowledge from the squircUBe scans while they were touching down, but otherwise, discover the planet's sun doesn’t reflect brown, and it has slightly more gravity than Earth.
They spend a bit of time picking their instruments from amongst the debris of their space pods, and then gather on the suface to walk to the show, letting the planet dictate what they play and wear.
Eventually, they get to the club where the show is.
Zero G Mice performance...
Bleepy, Bloopy, Future-y sounding, synthy, lots and lots of drum machines
synopsis (hour two)
Having finished their set, univac and Austin are hanging out with The Renaissance Iguanas, the local act that has been paired up with The Zero G Mice for this gig. The Renaissance Iguanas consist of four members: Wrongway (played by Ninah), Accent Grave (played by dAs), Komodo Mihaus (played by univac) and The Brown Wanderer (played by Austin). univac & Austin talk about gear, the band that’s about to play, and anything else that comes up before they start the show. Since they have already finished playing, Austin has already had a few drinks, and is getting VERY silly. But univac is a little concerned, as they haven’t been able to load out their gear yet, and the bots can’t be found, and he’s nervous that something might get stolen. So he’s not drinking yet. univac & Austin make more observations about how unique Beta Arland II, Neonking City, and The Tube are, in terms of places to visit.
They speculate what The Renaissance Iguanas might sound like... and then they begin to perform.
Renaissance Iguanas performance...
Musical loops of Shakespearean style music, strings, woodwinds, voice.. heavily blended
end synopsis
univac: I have a feeling we’re really gonna kick some intergalactic multi-cheeked ass at our next gig with “Some New Sounds”. The thermaljet printout Jonni sent says planet Dendrolic is our next destination. There’s a note here saying it is a misshapen planetoid of all wood and paper, so plan accordingly.
univac and Austin Rich will be back on UB Radio Salon next month, for another episode of this continuing saga...
